The Greater Seattle/Eastside division worked with KGM & a team of subcontractors to complete the eastern phase of the SR 520 bridge replacement project in the spring of 2016. Lakeside’s main scope of work took place on the east side of Lake Washington during two full bridge/freeway weekend closures. Over the course of these closures, the existing roadway was removed, and the freeway was graded to a new alignment and profile. The final step was to pave the surface with a 12″ asphalt section. On this project, Lakeside placed approximately 9,000 tons of asphalt during those two closures. The freeway was opened to the traveling public on time as planned.
